Unilever finalizes sale of ekaterra tea business


LONDON – Non-public fairness firm CVC Capital Companions is now the proprietor of ekaterra, previously part of Unilever PLC’s tea enterprise. CVC Capital Companions paid €4.5 billion ($4.7 billion) for the unit, which incorporates such manufacturers as Lipton, Pukka, T2, Tazo and others.

The ekaterra enterprise had roughly €2 billion ($2.1 billion) in gross sales in 2020.

The sale of ekaterra to CVC Capital Companions adopted a strategic overview by Unilever by which the corporate determined to divest a portion of its tea property. Unilever continues to function its tea companies in India and Indonesia and stays in its three way partnership with PepsiCo, Inc., Buy, NY.
