The Top Five Places to Visit If You Want to Find Happiness

Being happy is one of the most important things in life, and it’s something we strive to achieve every day. But what are some of the happiest places in the world? While there are many factors that contribute to happiness, such as work and relationships, sometimes you need to escape to paradise or quiet your mind with relaxation in order to be truly happy. This top five list of the happiest places around the world will get you thinking about what makes people happy and how you can go about finding happiness yourself.

Iceland
Some people say that Iceland is the most beautiful place on earth. With more than half of its land covered in glaciers and an incredible, vast landscape, you’ll never want to leave. It is this overwhelming sense of space that resonates with visitors, who are often drawn there by the idea of finding a moment’s peace in such untouched surroundings.

New Zealand
For the fourth spot on this list, it’s time for New Zealand. When you get there, feel free to take a hiking trek through what locals call the wilderness. There are also some great hot springs to enjoy and waterfalls. The climate is perfect, too: rainforests, mountains, beaches.

Bhutan
Tucked away in the foothills of the Himalayas is a small, independent country where gross national happiness is more important than gross domestic product. Tragically, it wasn’t always this way. After becoming one of the poorest countries in Asia and experiencing great suffering under British occupation during the late 1800s, Bhutan endured brutal losses of its population due to war.

Ireland
This small country is home to many cultural influences, including those of France and Great Britain. With so much natural beauty, a commitment to progress, and hospitable citizens, it’s no wonder Ireland has been dubbed the Emerald Isle. Breathtaking landscapes cover over 70% of the land in Ireland.

New York City
No trip to the Big Apple is complete without a day spent exploring the magic of New York City. Whether you want to soak up culture in Central Park, take in the iconic Manhattan skyline at night, or get an adrenaline rush with a high-intensity obstacle course race, you can do it all with confidence in The City That Never Sleeps.
