The Hottest Country In The Entire World Isn’t Where You’d Expect

Do you know what the hottest country in the world is? I would say it’s probably somewhere in the tropics, but if you guessed that, you’d be wrong! A new list of the most sweltering countries in the world actually names the hottest country as a surprising location that doesn’t make sense at first glance (and probably won’t make sense when you look at it on a map). If you like warm weather and beautiful beaches, though, this place might just be your dream destination! Ready to find out which country came out on top? Read on to get all the details.

There has been debate regarding whether nation has the warmest climate, and many individuals are adamant that Australia is the solution.

Others contend that the state of California, where Death Valley had the hottest temperature ever, has the key. The hottest day of the year in 1913 had temperatures of 57.7°C, according to Guiness World Records. The only word that comes to me when describing how hot this is is uncomfortable.

However, this record was surpassed in 1922. A scary 57.8°C temperature was recorded in Libya. El Azizia’s deserts made history by reaching a temperature that is unbearable to humans. That makes Libya, in our opinion, the hottest nation on earth. Sure, we know what you’re thinking. But it isn’t even close to being the hottest country. To which we would say: Actually it’s one of the two countries with the highest average surface temps at 41.3 degrees Celsius (106 degrees Fahrenheit) per year – right behind Turkmenistan at 43 degrees Celsius (109 degrees Fahrenheit). It’s also tied for number 1 with Kuwait as the most humid nation, averaging 90% humidity.
But as there is an entire ocean separating Libya from Western nations, they remain safe from seeing their new world records broken anytime soon.
Libya may be known for their high heat but they have one thing that other hotter countries don’t have: sand dunes.
