The Coolest Streets in the World

Perhaps the Irish band should have written songs about the greatest streets in the world instead of their renowned songs about streets without names. 33 streets were chosen from 20,000 respondents in Time Out’s 2022 survey to identify the world’s trendiest streets. You should look around here.
1 Rue Wellington, Montreal

It’s uncommon to discover an urban beach in the centre of a city street, which makes Montreal, Canada’s Rue Wellington, all the more appealing. The lively strip is home to 200 businesses, including pubs, cafés, bagel shops, and French bistros. The roadway is converted into a pedestrian-only zone during the summer, and small tuk-tuks are provided to transport guests from beginning to finish. If you’re looking for a great spot to relax with friends or enjoy an evening meal, this is it!
26 Kloof Street, Cape Town

All of Cape Town’s hipsters congregate on Kloof Street. It is flanked by spectacular views of Table Mountain in the Gardens District and is teeming with retro shops, spas, hip bars, international eateries, and the world’s greatest ice cream shop. Don’t forget to stop at Kloof Street House, a Victorian house that has been converted into a charming restaurant with old-world charm. And for the ultimate photo op, head to the Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden where you can pose under an iconic street sign surrounded by beautiful flowers.
17 Deptford High Street, London

Deptford High Street is the place to be in London—forget Oxford Street or Abbey Road. The Boulevard has a diverse assortment of cafés, independent stores, jazz bars, art galleries, and jazz clubs. Fresh fruit, seafood, and household goods are sold by street sellers three times per week. On the weekends, there is also a bustling, albeit chaotic, flea market. Don’t forget to enjoy Little Nan’s Bar’s Spice Girls-themed drink! If you’re not quite in the mood for cocktails, head over to Soho institution Sticky Fingers Bakery for one of their trademark cakes. Or if you’re really feeling adventurous (and hungry), try one of their curry pies. Not into baked goods?
