The Pacific Coast Highway in California may be the most breathtakingly gorgeous route in the whole nation. You may view the beaches and surrounding terrain abutting the Pacific Ocean in all of their breathtaking glory along this twisting length of road that runs from Orange County to just south of the Oregon border. There are some sections where you will need to pull over and park your car, so that you can take a stroll on one of the many beautiful coastal trails. Route 66, which was originally the main route between the Midwest and the West Coast, is possibly the most well-known road in the United States. You may still follow its original path from Chicago to Los Angeles to see what the many Americans who travelled to the West in the early half of the 20th century witnessed, despite it no longer being as popular. The route starts in Chicago on the Illinois/Indiana border and ends on Santa Monica Pier in California. As you travel, you will cross Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico and Arizona before entering California. There are plenty of sites to visit along the way that are worth stopping for a visit or two – like old townships with fascinating buildings that date back to before cars were invented. The best thing about this long drive?
