The Best Vegan Pizza in New York – Come Hungry, Leave Happy

New York City is known as one of the most vegan-friendly cities in the United States, and if you ask a New Yorker where to get the best vegan pizza, you’ll probably be given an earful about the best places in town. You’re probably wondering how on earth can you get your hands on some of this great vegan pizza (and by some, we mean all of it), so here are four tips that will help you on your way to some delicious veggie pizza.

The double zero

The wood-fired pizza kitchen in New York City of celebrity chef Matthew Kenney is one of our favorites. The menu includes popular classics like the Margherita made with cashew mozzarella and the spicy arrabbiata made with shiitake bacon. And for those who can’t get enough zucchini, there’s a zucchini pizzette on the appetizer list that has a really nice bite to it from a finely chopped jalapeño. But even if you have no interest in vegan cheese or tempeh bacon, this is still worth visiting because their whole wheat crusts are fantastic: crispy on the outside and tender inside.

Pizza with artistic flair

Cauliflower is also used to make gluten-free crusts. Popular toppings include sun-dried tomatoes, spinach, artichokes, pineapple, garlic and ricotta cheese. Vegetarian can enjoy the vegetable slices on a whole wheat crust with tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese or the artisan style with pesto sauce.

Once you bite into one of these slices, you’ll immediately start to plan your next visit. The simple menu also includes a few salads and appetizers, but they are mainly known for their pizzas.
