Get Your Fill of Tacos in These 3 American Cities

If you’re like most people, you love tacos — and it’s time to pack your bags and find the best place in the country to eat them. If you’re looking to sample the best tacos in America, these 3 cities should be at the top of your list. The only challenge will be picking which city to try out first! Let’s get started…

Los Angeles, California

Along with being home to many famous people, The City of Angels is also well-known for its mouthwatering tacos. It should come as no surprise that you can find them in almost any section of this great city given how near it is to Mexico. You can get a taco that stands up whether you’re in Venice Beach or Culver City. One of the best places for authentic Mexican cuisine is La Parrilla Feliz on Hillhurst Avenue. They have a variety of options from carne asada and lengua tacos to ceviche, but their horchata is the real standout here. Located on Olympic Boulevard and Broadway respectively, Rosarito Taco Shop and Tito’s Tacos are two more popular choices among Angelenos who want fresh and flavorful Mexican food at an affordable price point.

Austin, Texas

In the past, Austin was the unexpected city that many were startled to learn served as Texas’s capital. But these days, it’s a hive of culture for cuisine, music, and, you guessed it, nightlife. There are several taco restaurants in Austin, and each one is superior to the others. The best tacos can be found at Torchy’s or TacoDeli because they have unique fillings, toppings, and sauces. The Mexican-inspired menu at Torchy’s features fried avocado tacos with roasted corn pico de gallo and jalapeno queso on top; while the restaurant TacoDeli offers unusual choices like fried chicken taquitos or pork belly tacos with bacon fat braised onions.

You can’t go wrong with Mexican food in San Antonio, another Texas city that is known for its fantastic tacos. After exploring the Alamo and the Riverwalk, don’t forget to treat yourself to a mouthwatering taco! Taco lovers will be thrilled with these variations on the popular dish: carne guisada (stewed beef), carnitas (slow-roasted pork), or barbacoa de cabeza (goat meat). If you’re feeling adventurous, try one of their many seafood options like shrimp or fish tacos.
Killeen, TX: Home to Fort Hood military base, this small town has grown into a bustling suburb due to an influx of residents coming from places such as Iraq and Afghanistan. Along with delicious Tex-Mex dishes, Killeen also boasts an impressive variety of authentic international cuisine including Vietnamese pho noodle soup and Malaysian rice noodle salad.
