Don’t Fall for These Tourist Traps in Los Angeles

While Los Angeles does have plenty of tourist attractions that are worth your time and money, it also has its fair share of traps that are best avoided, lest you waste precious time and money. Don’t fall into these tourist traps in Los Angeles, whether you’re visiting or you live there!

The Hollywood Walk of Fame

Despite being one of the most well-known tourist destinations in Los Angeles, the Hollywood Walk of Fame is also a major tourist trap. Looking at name plates isn’t really entertaining, especially if other visitors are constantly pressing you to get a better perspective. Instead, visit some of the museums with movie-related themes; you’ll have a far better time. The Ivar Theater and Egyptian Theatre both offer various types of movies and events. Make sure to check their schedules before you plan your trip!

Venice Beach

One of the areas of LA that the majority of locals have been avoiding for a while is Venice Beach. The beach is now renowned for being filthy and prone to petty theft, despite still providing some beautiful views. Grauman’s Chinese Theatre: If there is one tourist trap you need to avoid when coming to Hollywood then it has got to be Grauman’s Chinese Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard.

In Los Angeles, Ovation Hollywood is undoubtedly the most well-liked retail centre. You should decline the chance to look it over for this reason. In addition to being crowded and expensive, the location doesn’t have anything unique to offer. What you see is what you get – a place where people come for a day of shopping. For those who can’t afford the prices, it’s worth skipping this place altogether.

Madame Tussauds Hollywood

Madame Tussauds Hollywood is far from the best place to spend your time. There are 21 wax museums like this in the world, and the one in Los Angeles isn’t particularly noteworthy. For a hefty admission price, you will see wax figures of your favourite actors, but nothing else. There’s not even an exhibit on the history of cinema or film. It’s a tourist trap that falls short. You’ll be better off going to Ripley’s Believe It or Not! or paying to go behind-the-scenes at Paramount Pictures instead.
