7 Things You Need to Know Before Your Rwanda Adventure

1) Getting there
The Rwandan capital of Kigali is a hub for getting around the country and is connected by flights to Johannesburg, Brussels, Nairobi, Dar es Salaam and Bujumbura. The city has an international airport with direct flights from New York City and Paris. TACA connects Kigali with San Salvador, Honduras’ Tegucigalpa and Guatemala City in Central America.

2) How Much Will it Cost?
Wondering how much it will cost to visit Rwanda? Here are some of the most common costs, expenses, and other information you should be aware of before your trip. The following is a breakdown of what you might expect:
*Airfare: $1,000-$2,000 each way depending on where you’re traveling from. *Airlines like British Airways and KLM offer direct flights from the US and UK respectively.

3) Visa Requirements
If you are a U.S. citizen, your passport should have at least six months validity and one blank page for the visa stamp. If your passport doesn’t meet these requirements, please renew it as soon as possible before travelling to Rwanda.
You will need a yellow fever vaccination if you are coming from an infected area or been in transit through an infected area within the past 10 days.
