Located in the mountainous borderlands of Slovenia and Italy, Postojna Cave is known as one of the largest and most beautiful caves in Europe. 1) The Postojna Cave

The Postojna Cave is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Slovenia. The cave is more than 20 kilometers long and is filled with stalactites and stalagmites. Visitors can take a train through the cave or explore it on foot.
Inside, you’ll find a lake that is drained every year so skippers can race across it. The cave was once also used to breed rabbits for food and medicine. Guided tours are available, but you can also explore it yourself with a flashlight.

2) Caves of Kocjan

The Caves of Kocjan are one of the most popular tourist destinations in Slovenia. The caves are located in the village of Matavun, just outside of Ljubljana. The caves are a network of tunnels and chambers that total over four kilometers in length. The caves are home to a variety of stalactites and stalagmites, as well as an underground river. Visitors can explore the caves on guided tours. You’ll see everything from tiny waterfalls to rimstone pools while exploring this UNESCO World Heritage Site.
